Great images.

My father was assistant to the UK air attache from 76-78 and like you I attended the International School. A wonderful cosmopolitan experience. We lived in Mansour and spent much time at the embassy pool.

By amazing coincidence we also had a yellow Hillman Hunter. Perhaps it was considered the most Iraq-worthy of the current crop of British vehicles!

Thank you for sharing these memories. I have visited, surprising, quite a few of the destinations that your family travelled through and very much enjoyed seeing and reading about them again. Many off the beaten track. A lovely surprise to find your website. I'm smiling. Many thanks again.

I stayed at the British Club in Baghdad for a period in 1972/73 when I was a Quantity Surveyor at the major hospital - I caught hepatitis and had to leave.

I remember a contingent of British Nurses employed at the hospital (Medical City)

Hello! Fantastic to see your pics of the British Club in Baghdad! We were there in the early 70's also and regular visitors to the BC and the Alwiya Club! I am sure I am in the kids tug o war picture at the BC sports day and my Dad will be in the other! Amazing to read and see stuff from way back then! My parents were Jeremy and Ursula Parker, (he worked at BOAC - Station Officer) She help organise lots of those social events at the club!! My sisters Giselle & Juliet were there, also Adam, my brother. I can't believe that we didn't know each other as kids! Fantastic stuff - Thanks Dominic
